It was ladies first at the 12th Philippine Airlines Ladies Interclub Tournament held at the Cebu Golf and Country Club last September.
The five-day tournament was a sunny celebration of sportsmanship, but more than that, it was an event to foster camaraderie between industry partners and golf-lovers alike. More than 200 golfers joined the event, a group that consisted of both adventurous amateurs who wished to try their hand at the sport, professional golfers from some of the country’s premier golfing clubs, as well as a handful of international participants.
The PAL Ladies Interclub Tournament is an offshoot of the highly respected and anticipated PAL Regular Interclub that attracts more than a thousand golfers from around the country and the world. Aside from the tournament proper, great food, opportunities to socialize and network and world-class entertainment were all part of the event.
This year, a total of 28 teams participated with the Lubao, Pampanga’s Pradera Verde ladies golf team emerging as the champions — a feat for first-time participants at the tournament! The team also set the tournament’s biggest lead over defending champion Southwoods Masters, ending their six-year streak of consecutive championships.
