Get Christmas shopping-ready: The International Bazaar 2017 opens on November 26

Less than 70 days to go before Christmas! Don’t wait until the last minute to find meaningful gifts for friends and loved ones. While we know it can be tough to think of original gifts every year, perhaps a trip to the International Bazaar 2017 can help you narrow options down — or widen them, depending on what you need!

Unique finds from different countries await at the International Bazaar 2017

The International Bazaar Foundation, or just the International Bazaar for short, is an annual event organized by members of Manila’s Diplomatic and Consular Corps. Goods and unique finds from all over the world make their way to Manila, and it’s an awesome way for shoppers to come home with great buys, and at the same time, learn a thing or two about their purchases’ country of origin. Participating countries will have their own booths, and best of all, products will be sold tax-free.

Philippine-made products are also a major part of the International Bazaar 2017

It all started five decades ago with Angela Valdes-Ramos, wife of then Secretary of Foreign Affairs Narciso Ramos, who made it a mission to head activities and efforts that improved the lives of the underprivileged and less fortunate. The first ever bazaar was held as a special project of the ladies of the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, other government agencies and the private sector. Today, it’s become one of the most anticipated shopping events in the metro and the 2017 edition is headed by none other than Mayor Lani Cayetano.

Every product at the International Bazaar 2017 has a story; learn about it as you make your purchases

Of course, Filipino products are also a highlight and Philippine-made products will certainly get their share of the limelight in this highly anticipated event. In relation to this, the foundation’s philosophy of “Shop Global, Help Local” is all about using proceeds to provide services to local communities and help alleviate the conditions of Philippine society’s underprivileged.

From food to fashion finds, the International Bazaar 2017 will have something for everyone

The International Bazaar 2017 is scheduled to take place on November 26, 2017 from 9:00am to 7:00pm at the PICC Forums 1, 2 and 3, CCP Complex, Pasay City.
